Rico Piatelli

Rico joined Baystate Financial in 2011, 10 years later Sean and Rico merged practices to form The Clarendon Team in 2021. Prior to Baystate, Rico deployed to Afghanistan as an Infantry Platoon Leader in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where he was awarded a Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

Rico leads our Corporate Retirement Plan business and works with a diverse group of individual clients that encompasses business owners, professional athletes, real estate developers, C-suite executives and senior financial executives at both privately held and publicly traded companies. For his Corporate clients, Rico serves as a dedicated partner to assist in managing their retirement plan or develop strategies to reward and retain top talent. For his individual clients, Rico helps clients create goals-based investment management and financial planning strategies to address multifaceted wealth management needs. These range from cashflow management, wealth management, to strategic guidance on compensation (including concentrated stock) and preparing for liquidity events. Rico also helps families design strategies aimed at preserving wealth and transferring it to future generations.

Through the affiliation with Baystate Financial, Rico has access to the firms internal specialists from estate and business planning, registered investment advisors and insurance strategists. With this team approach, Rico is able to help simplify the complex decisions that his clients must make and develop a personalized strategy to pursue their desired outcome.

Rico’s many outside interests include playing hockey, golf, and spending time on the water with friends and family. He lives in Boston with his wife Parisa, and his dog Houston.
